Are you a fan of Cobra Kai or The Karate Kid? If so, this may be the perfect workshop for you!
Come and learn more about the practices and traditions of martial arts and self-defense during this introductory class. You'll see demonstrations of martial arts equipment such as a sai and bow and also have the opportunity to try various moves during the class. It's a great way to give it a try without making a large investment of time or money.
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this program.
What to Know Before You Go:
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Wear comfortable lightweight sneakers (or you can also participate barefoot)
- Chewing gum is not permitted
- This is a martial arts class and physical contact such as blocking or hitting a bag is required.
- There will be some cardio exercise. Those with physical limitations may choose just to watch.
- Bring a water bottle. Light refreshments will be provided during the class
- All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver to participate in this class
- Ample free parking is available - park on the "barn" side of Fort Hunter Park
- Restroom facilities are available onsite inside the barn
- The program will begin PROMPTLY - Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled program start time to get yourself situated.
About the Instructors:
Master Bryan Jackson - A Black Belt Isshinryu Karate with over 50 years of experience. He is also on the Special Advisory Committee for The Pennsylvania Karate Hall of Fame.
Tricia Jackson - Guest Star; Kung Fu demonstrator. She is a Red Belt in Kung Fu with over 7 years of study in this Martial Arts Program.
Dr. Fred Waters - Special Guest Sar. Dr. Fred Waters holds a Doctorate degree in Martial Arts of Close Quarter Combat and Disarming. He is a Grand Master and has over 50 years of experience in Martial Arts.
