Art Heals: Wind Chimes Workshop 2025 - Park Rx

By Fort Hunter Park (other events)

Wednesday, April 30 2025 6:00 PM 8:00 PM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

Join Chris Pettman, a local artisan, and member of the Millersburg Art Association, as she presents a two-hour Wind Chimes Workshop.

As with most of Chris’ workshops, individual creativity is encouraged! Participants will learn about the different parts of a windchime, then each individual will choose their glass bottle, sale, and clapper. Chris brings tons of beads to choose from to make each windchime truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

Everything will be supplied, but feel free to bring your own unique glass or ceramic beads to express yourself. Put everything together and the final product is a beautiful wind chime with a truly amazing sound. Hang inside by a window, or outside on a deck, porch, or even a tree.

Program cost: $35.00 per person - includes instruction and all materials.
Space is limited, and we expect this class to fill up quickly.

This program would be appropriate for anyone aged 16 years and older. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

About the Presenter, Chris Pettman:

"For as long as I can remember, I have been creative. As a child, I crafted wreaths, macrame hangers, and pillow tops and regularly sold them to family and friends. For over 30 years, I taught many different Girl Scout troops, day camps, events, etc., where my mother and I were usually elbow deep in fun crafts for all ages. While I do not really have a main medium, I enjoy many things such as scrapbooking, quilting and sewing, acrylic and watercolor painting, wreath making, windchimes, and most recently, making fun and stylish gnomes. After retiring from Girl Scouts, I began teaching creativity classes, and I am thrilled so many people enjoy this fun pastime like I do. My favorite quote is by Salvador Dali “A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others.” I think that is the best part, to inspire others to find the joy in developing their inner artist."

A Dauphin County Park Rx wellness program sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield.

Note: This is a non-refundable program. If you register and then are unable to attend, we are happy to substitute the name of a friend or family member to take your spot. Contact us directly for assistance.
